An Enterprise Model for Navigating Continuous Change and Transformation
Tracey Penington and Caroline Mills draw on extensive experience to explore how organisations build change capability, strengthen culture and lead through disruption and AI.
Why We Wrote This Book
We live in a world of constant disruption. Technology is accelerating. Business models are evolving. Artificial intelligence is reshaping how organisations operate. Yet many organisations are still trying to manage change using approaches designed for a very different era.
Over the years working with leaders and organisations across industries, we kept seeing the same challenge. Organisations were not struggling because they lacked initiatives or strategies. They were struggling because they lacked the capability to manage continuous change.
This book is our response to that challenge.
We wrote The ChangeFit™ Organisation to help leaders rethink how change is approached, led and embedded across their organisation. Rather than viewing change as a series of projects, we believe organisations must develop the capability to continuously adapt and thrive in an environment where change never stops.
A New Enterprise Model for Continuous Change
In today’s environment organisations cannot rely on occasional transformation programs to stay competitive. Change is no longer episodic. It is constant.
Through our work with organisations navigating major transformation we developed the ChangeFit™ model. It offers a holistic way of thinking about how organisations build the capability to lead and sustain change.
The ChangeFit™ Organisation introduces a broader enterprise perspective on change. It moves beyond traditional change management frameworks and focuses on building the organisational capability required to navigate disruption, complexity and uncertainty.
At the centre of the book are the Seven Dimensions of ChangeFit™, a practical model for understanding and strengthening an organisation’s ability to manage and lead change.
Built From Real Experience
Everything in this book comes from real experience.
Across our careers we have worked with leaders and organisations navigating major change. This includes large transformation programs, organisational restructures, cultural change and digital initiatives.
Through this work we have seen what enables organisations to successfully navigate change and what causes change efforts to struggle.
The ideas, models and perspectives in this book are grounded in those experiences. Our goal was not to create another theoretical framework but to share insights leaders and practitioners can apply in real organisational environments.

Building Organisations That Thrive Through Change
The organisations that will succeed in the coming decade will not simply manage change effectively. They will build the capability to continuously evolve.
Our aim with this book is to help leaders create organisations that can navigate disruption, embrace complexity and lead transformation rather than constantly reacting to it.
In a world where change never stops, the goal is not simply to survive change.
It is to become ChangeFit™.
